Manager-Financial & Regulatory Reporting Location: Sharjah, UAE Job Description: Job Purpose: •Working with the Senior Manager – Finance, the jobholder will act as the financial controller / technical accountant for the company. The primary focus will be ensuring the bank completes quarterly, half-yearly and annual financial statements (in accordance with IFRS / CB policies) as well as the full suite of required UAE CB regulatory returns in a timely / accurate manner and successfully navigates all audit processes (internal / external) / UAE CB inspections. The jobholder will ensure the integrity of the general ledger, have accountability for the Accounts Payable function / reconciliation processes and ensure a robust risk / control framework is in place. •In addition, the role will provide adhoc support to finance management as / when needed. To complete these responsibilities the jobholder will have 5 direct reports. Job Accountabilities: •Management of the monthly / quarterly financial accounting cycle •Preparation of quarterly / half yearly / annual Financial Statements •Represent key point of contact for external auditors •Implement / maintain financial policies & procedures •Management of the General Ledger integrity (including reconciliation of Nostro accounts and overview of suspense account activity) •Ensure compliance with full suite of UAE CB regulatory reports •Effective management of Accounts Payable function •Provide technical accounting expertise for Finance team and as a whole •Ensure robust risk & control framework is in place across Finance and wider functions •Support the Head of Finance in adhoc requirements •Optimal management of direct reports •Provide monthly MIS as appropriate Job context: •Requires individual to be competent and able to manage a team effectively (role has many different processes so solid organizational / prioritizing skills are essential) •Technically efficient individual who is able to clearly articulate financial complexities and implementation of IFRS •Working to and meeting deadlines with high standard output is essential as financial reports / management information is presented to senior management •Liaising with external auditors and UAE CB inspectors is a requirement •Self-motivated individual who is able to see the “big picture” and assess options for continuous improvement of team performance / internal processes •Provide support in the absence of the Head of Finance Desired Profile: •Any Nationality with 5-12 years local experience in IFRS, UAE CB Policies •Qualified Accountant (ACA or CIMA) •5 yrs in a Finance Accounts role •Previous bank experience •Good knowledge of MS Office (esp.
