Manager’s Search not that different than in the past. Why are so many people upset about this search for a new City Manager? Those of us who have been around Lowell recall much more bitter and antagonistic searches. We have seen hundreds of ballots before a Manager is selected and we have seen backroom deals get Manager’s selected after 2 ballots. Information has “leaked” shocking? NO, when you recall that the current Mayor in an attempt to curry favor with the SUN Editor after being at odds with him, leaked the names of all candidates during the last search, did anyone really think these Councilors would not undertake the same road in order to curry favor for themselves? We know who leaked the finalist, Councilor ethics himself who would like some Sun support has he jockey’s to be the next Mayor of Lowell. After all, like Rodney, he has served many terms and has not been Mayor yet. Watch and see how he becomes the new favorite of the Sun editor and city hall reporter. Lowell is Lowell and it is time we put our pettiness aside, get behind State Rep. Kevin Murphy and move Lowell forward
