Manav Rachna’s team is the only team from India to qualify for the final round of ‘Apps Competition’ for Microsoft Office Challenge 2014... Team Code Blue comprising Jehi Jha, Neha Valecha, Saurabh Kanwar and Ankur Bhalla from Manav Rachna have been selected in the final round of Apps Competition for Microsoft Office Challenge 2014. They are the only team from India (and among the only two shortlisted from 140 teams across the world) to qualify for this prestigious competition. The team is leaving for the final round to be held in Seattle, USA in the coming week. A formal send-off ceremony was organized today to wish this stellar team success in the Grand Finale. Manav Rachna’s team will compete against a team from China in the final round. The team has proposed an Office App called ‘Molecule Maker’, that would enable the user to view a graphical representation for the corresponding element or molecule entered by the user. The basic function of ‘Molecule Maker’ app is to simplify or nullify human effort. With a single click of the mouse, the user would be able to have access to all the molecular diagram of even the biggest molecules like Buckminsterfullerene or PG5! This app would simplify the work of researchers on PowerPoint. Also it would enhance the study of elements and their compounds. Expressing his happiness, Dr. B. S. Gill, Director, Dr. O P Bhalla Innovation and Incubation Centre, said, “For the first time, this event is being held at the headquarters of Microsoft (i.e. Seattle, USA) and Bill Gates as well as Satya Nadella will be a part of the audience in this final round. Our students will get the rare opportunity to interact with such luminaries”. We are confident that the team will come back with the trophy and make the whole country proud! Kudos to the team!
