Manchester Boxing Day sales 2014: Hundreds of shoppers expected to queue in the freezing cold from 2am While most of us will still be tucked up in bed, possibly nursing the after affects of a hangover and food coma from over-indulging, thousands of shoppers are expected to descend on the city centre on Boxing Day in the hope of bagging a bargain. The earliest risers will be queuing outside the Next store in the Arndale which is opening its doors from 6am. Last year shoppers (pictured) were waiting outside in the cold from 2am in the hope of being the first through the door. Selfridges in Exchange Square will then be letting in bargain hunters from 8am who will be hoping to get hold of designer hand bags and purses marked down by 50 per cent.
