Manchester City & Chelsea join Arsenal & Juventus in the race for Gonzalo Higuain [Marca] The race to sign Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain is officially turning into a transfer saga! Marca report today that Gonzalo Higuain has a couple of new suitors from the Premier League: Manchester City and Chelsea. The front runners for Higuain were believed to be Arsenal and Juventus after he announced his desire to leave the Bernabeu after last Saturday’s final La Liga game of the season against Osasuna. Juventus remain best placed, according to Marca but with the Old Lady also reportedly close to bringing in Carlos Tevez, it is not for certain that they will also move for Higuain now. Incoming Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini knows Higuain from his time in La Liga whilst Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho has been coaching the former River Plate striker at the Bernabeu. Real Madrid’s asking price is 30 million euros and with City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus all showing interest it looks like Los Blancos will get the full fee. Higuain’s brother and agent told Radio Marca yesterday: “There is no agreement with any club yet. Whoever wants to talk, first must speak with Real Madrid.”
