Manchester City latest: Isco ‘chooses City’; Fernandinho targets Champions League https://facebook/manchesterisb #mcfc #mcfcnews #manchesterisblue Reports from Spain suggest that Isco has opted to join Manchester City rather than Real Madrid. The stories come from newspaper El Confidencial and say the Malaga playmaker has chosen the Blues due to the increased chance of regular playing-time and the opportunity to reunite with Manuel Pellegrini. The report claims that the 21-year-old’s representatives had previously agreed on a move to Real (as was reported earlier this week) only for the player to opt for the Etihad. The presence of Mesut Ozil, Luke Modric and Kaka in Real’s squad is believed to have played a part in Isco’s decision to snub them. The report states that should nothing change in the next few hours, City will be securing one of Europe’s most exciting young talents. One new signing who can’t wait to get going is Brazilian Fernandinho. And the midfielder has set his sights high, claiming the Blues can end next season as champions of Europe. “I hope it will be an excellent performance from City in the competition,” he said. “A cup would be incredible, and the best in Europe? I believe we can do it.” The 28-year-old already has experience of playing, and scoring, in the Champions League, and his addition will add some sparkle to a side who have so far flattered to deceive at Europe’s top table. From arrivals to departures, with reports continuing that both Carlos Tevez and Aleksandar Kolarov could be on their way to Italy. Having already been linked with a move for Kolarov earlier this year, Juventus are said to have renewed their interest in the player due to his versatility. The Serie A champions have also been strongly linked with Tevez, who was said to have agreed personal terms with them only for the deal to go quiet, with AC Milan the more vocal potential suitors. Although that may simply be because of City’s reluctance to sell the striker before a replacement has been secured. That man was long-thought to be Edinson Cavani, and his will-he-won’t-he saga continues with his latest quotes dispelling the theory that he has already agreed terms with Real Madrid. “I only know that I am a Napoli player,” he told Globo Esporte. “The truth is that there is nothing concrete, nothing official.” There is little doubt that City would thrive with the Uruguayan spearheading their attack. But where he will ultimately end up is no clearer. And finally, City have confirmed their pre-season games during their summer tour of South Africa. The Blues will play Supersport United on July 14 in Pretoria and AmaZulu FC on July 18 in Durban.
