Manchester United Satisfied Radamel Falcaos Age Documents Are Correct Manchester United are content with assurances from Radamel Falcaos representatives that their new striker is actually 28-years-old, amid rumours that the player was actually in his 30s. According to the Mail, news surfaced over the weekend that the Colombian striker was actually 30, raising concerns amongst United that they could have been paying a small fortune to a player who was far older than expected. The Red Devils tied up a £6 million loan move for the player on transfer deadline day and are paying him huge wages. Additionally, depending on how his season pans out, Falcao is set to sign a long term contract at Old Trafford next summer, with the fee said to be in the region of £52 million. United were looking for confirmation that Falcaos age was not fabricated so they can push on with the deal. A source from United said: We were aware of the rumours but it was never an issue for us. Controversy first began over the players age when it was alleged that his age was doctored to play at the Under-20 World Cup in 2005. Falcao made his professional debut at 13, but in 2012, Falcao’s old school leaked documents claiming that he was born in 1984. His family subsequently released his birth certificate to end the speculation, but it has continued since. Falcao is set to make his debut for the club next weekend at home to QPR, following the international break.
