Manchester United are gearing up for another mega spending spree - TopicsExpress

Manchester United are gearing up for another mega spending spree next summer to fire them back among Europe’s elite. Louis van Gaal has been told he has significant funds to spend in the transfer market, with United chiefs set to build a formidable squad with “elite” players for every position. The list of targets includes Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin, Borussia Dortmund and Germany centre-half Mats Hummels and Southampton and England right-back Nathaniel Clyne. Roma midfielder Kevin Strootman, a long-term target of Van Gaals, is also on there, as is Dortmund and Germany midfielder Marco Reus, although he is likely to join Bayern Munich instead. Van Gaal needs to recruit a striker too, but a decision on that will not be made until he has made up his mind on Monaco loanee Radamel Falcao, whom United have an option to buy next summer for £42.5m.
