Manchester United has today announced how the Club will observe Remembrance this year, both at Old Trafford and with fans around the world. As well as honouring all those who have lost their lives in armed conflicts, this year’s activity will give special reference to the 18 Manchester United players who have died in armed conflict in the Club’s 136-year history. Ed Woodward, Manchester United executive vice chairman, said: “Remembrance is always a very important time and at Manchester United we value the opportunity to honour those who have lost their lives in conflicts across the world. This year’s activity will have added significance, as we commemorate our former players who have fallen in combat. I know our fans will come together this week to join the Club in observing this occasion, reflecting on the privileges that peace brings and in thinking about those whose lives are still affected by conflict.
