Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck is desperate to make Englands World Cup squad. After seeing his first United action for three matches during the latter stages of the 2-0 Champions League defeat in Olympiacos, Welbeck is keen to parade his talents and rubber-stamp a place in Roy Hodgsons plans for Brazil. If I get my opportunity, I just want to give it my best shot, he told TheFA. Ive got faith in my own ability. Were all in it together but, at the same time, were fighting for that World Cup spot. Were professionals and we know what it takes. I think everyone is just working hard and weve just got to be as good as we can be. I just want to play for my club, try to score goals and try to keep injury free.
