Manchester Uniteds Louis van Gaal to Receive Another £200m Warchest By Scott Saunderson 5 Dec 2014 Manchester United will give manager Louis van Gaal up to another £200m to spend on his squad over the next two transfer windows, according to the Star. United, who finished 7th in the Premier League last season, spent a mammoth £150m on new players last summer to overhaul a squad lacking in quality, but it appears that the work is not over yet. Club owners the Glazer family want to see their club competing at the very highest level once more, and are prepared to do whatever necessary for the team to get there. Four wins on the trot and suddenly everything is a subtle shade of rosy again at Man Utd. The report claims that club bigwigs want two top class players competing for every position on the pitch. United broke their transfer record last summer by sealing a £59.7m move for Real Madrid midfielder Angel Di Maria, while the likes of Ander Herrera, Luke Shaw and Marcos Rojo also arrived on big money, permanent deals. The club are weighing up whether to pay over £40m for Radamel Falcao next summer, but are waiting to see how his loan spell with the club goes this season first. However, other targets are already being watched, with Mats Hummels, Marco Reus, Diego Godin and Nathaniel Clyne all said to be on the clubs shopping list next summer. Kevin Strootman has also been linked, and more new faces will be required because United are expected to sell off more of the squads dead wood in upcoming transfer windows. The likes of Anderson, Nani, Anders Lindegaard and Tom Cleverley are likely to be sent away permanently in order to make room for new players.
