Manchesters newly refurbished Central Library celebrates its 80th birthday on Thursday 17 July 2014. The celebrations look to Central Librarys future in delivering state-of-the-art services, with the first Get Digital Festival taking place on the day - but also mark its past, with the opportunity for librarygoers to celebrate the librarys heritage. The Get Digital Festival is free, with activities including a pop-up Tech Zone - which will feature the latest technology, including demonstrations of Google Glass, the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, 3D printing, and Nao, the walking, talking, dancing robot.
