Manila, Philippines: Black Nazarene pilgrimage Yesterday marked the 408th anniversary for the Black Nazarene. This is worth looking up for more reading. The crowd was very friendly as they paraded the Black Nazarene through town. Many folks wanted their picture taken. Others offered information about what was happening. At one point, the main crowd passed and street cleaners literally swept in with their brooms, leaving the street cleaner than before the entourage. I sat down to read, and soon realized that I had picked the spot where the street sweepers were planning to have their dinner. They sat around me on the bridge, and offered me dinner!
