Manitoba First Nations threaten blockades in salary disclosure dispute.. Im wondering what the grassroots thinks about this? Last week a majority of people including myself were questioning the salaries and expenses.. it turns out a lot of the Chiefs who have complied are on the up and up including the Chief in BC who made 900,000.. It wasnt his fault because the money came with the job.. Anyways Blockades, why do some Chiefs still disagree with this transparency act? Is it a privacy issue, maybe a rebellion of some kind or because of past criticism that they were being overpaid at the expense of their band members? Idk myself but Im curious because it was said bands are ready to close installations, such as pipelines, in their fight against the First Nations Financial Transparency Act. So will the Land Defenders and grassroots take part in the blockades? Or will it be the Chief and council along with their supporters who do it themselves? Its all kind of confusing still.
