Mankind has a thirst for knowledge. That is evident in so many - TopicsExpress

Mankind has a thirst for knowledge. That is evident in so many arenas of life. It seems that mankind cannot be satisfied with, “It just happened.” There has to be a reason and an answer for everything. The account of Christmas has some supernatural aspects that don’t really have an answer. They have to be accepted by faith. A miracle is when the supernatural overtakes the natural. When we encounter a miracle we see the result – but we cannot answer the how and why. The virgin birth is one of those unexplainable miracles. After the fall of man, God gave the serpent a very forthright word concerning his future, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall crush your head, and you shall bruise His heel,” Genesis 3:15. The rabbis knew that this was a promise and that God would send a Redeemer. They called Him Messiah. Many rabbis interpreted Jeremiah 31:22, to say that the Messiah’s birth was to be unique, “…For the LORD has created a new thing in the earth—A woman shall encompass a man.” The Prophet Isaiah came right out and said that the Messiah was to be born of a virgin, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel,” Isaiah 7:14. I cannot explain to you in medical terms, human terms, how the virgin conception took place. It happened by faith. Luke records the conversation between Mary and the angel Gabriel, Luke 1:26-38. When the angel told Mary that she was to have a child, Mary questioned, “…How can this be, since I do not know a man?” The angel explained, “…The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” Obediently, Mary accepted the word of the angel, “…Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.” And at the moment of believing the word Mary conceived the Christ child. It was by faith, not by a natural act, not some hocus pocus, but by the acceptance of the word spoken to her. Faith is the seed of the woman. I am not a doctor of medicine but I know enough biology to understand that the seed comes from the father – not the mother. The Genesis verse tells us that the seed is, “her seed.” In Luke 17:6, Jesus uses a mustard seed to illustrate faith. Faith becomes the seed that allows God to do mighty and new things in the lives of His creation. We will say more about this tomorrow. For today we ask you this question: What is God saying to you this day? We believe God desires to do great, powerful and mighty things in your life. Will you trust Him and accept His word today? Obediently accept His word for you and allow the seed of faith to bring forth new life in you today. Scripture passages from the NKJV Blessings, Dan & Rita https://youtube/watch?v=Z1wlZoN6h9M
