Manmohan Singh being an acknowledged Economist, used his expertise to openly promote bhrastachar and lethargy in public life. Some of modern techniques adopted by Congress led UPA Govt.: 1. Under NAREGA: Guarateed work for 100 days: There is no work done but payment is made simply on the basis of Muster Rolls. This has promoted lethargy in public life and moral degradation, culminating in lack of Self Respect; 2. Improper scrutiny of Economic status of people Below Poverty Line (BPL): Young people, who are capable to earn their livelihood are declared BPL and supplied rotten eatables. This has resulted in spoiling of health and extra expenditure on medical treatment. Worst affects are mental disorders due to unhealthy diets. Saying goes that "Jaisa Ann vaisa Man" meaning bad food causing Mental degeneration; 3. Supply of Wheat and Rice at Re.1/kg, Sugar at Re.10/kg, Kerosene at Re.14/litre: This has put economy in reverse gears. Workers earning their livelihood with pride of labour, have turned into beggars. This has adversely affected our primary Agriculture sector. A labour does not want to put in hard work in return of Rs.400-450 daily wage. This has forced Kissans to go for lesser farming. This issue was raised in Parliament but MM Singh being expert economist, the issue was ignored & set aside. Heavy Hammer on the back of Kissans and National Productivity; 4. Bribe in the form of Old Age Pension: People who are fit for earning their livelihood are being given old age pension. As a National policy, Pension is earned and not gifted. But UPA Govt. has started such pension to persons in age starting 50 years. People pay some amount to surveyors and Pension is passed without proper scrutiny. This has lead to wide spread corruption. Lethargy is causing ill health and loss of Self Respect, eroding Social values; and, 5. Special concessions to select classes of citizens, without appropriate assessment of needs. Loss of "Pride of Work" and falling image in public eyes. There is immediate need to stop misuse of public funds for securing undue favours for particular political party and save National Economy. Provide Opportunity to work and promote Productivity.
