Manners Minding manners and practicing social etiquette is (unfortunately) a dying art form. As society becomes more and more casual, we are abandoning time-honored social customs. By practicing impeccable manners, you distinguish yourself from the increasing number of people that, well...dont. You may feel awkward practicing certain customs that feel dated, but honestly this is a revolution that needs to happen. People will admire you for your impeccable manners. There are certain customs of etiquette that might seem very formal but can make the world a more pleasurable place to live. Handwriting correspondences, greeting people by their formal names, opening doors for others, speaking with discretion - these are all wonderful customs to revive. Just remember always to be gracious, take the high road if met with rude people, and mind your manners. Additionally, treating everyone you meet during the day with respect is an important aspect of living a formal life. It may seem formal to give a brief nod of recognition and a good morning to everyone you see while walking the dog, but once you get used to it, it can feel quite good.
