Manny Pacquiao The Greatest Boxer of the Decade Manny Pacquiao the current pound for pound king, the only boxer to win eight titles in eight different divisions and current World Boxing Organization welterweight champion of the world will again prove his status as the world’s number one boxer against Shane Mosley on May 7. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao is on a thirteen fight winning streak since losing to Erik Morales in 2005. He knocked out David Diaz to win a lightweight belt. In the Dream Match against Oscar Dela Hoya, he made the Golden Boy quitted on his stool to earn the respect of millions of boxing fans around the world. After that match, he was challenged by Ricky Hatton in the Battle of East and West and scored a sensational second round knocked out against the boxer called Hitman. In 2009, he fought Miguel Cotto in Firepower and dominated the fight by scoring a late twelve round technical knocked out against the native of Puerto Rico. He knocked down Cotto in round three and four. Pacman continued his quest and fought Joshua Clottey in Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas. He again dominated the fight by winning via unanimous decision. The fight was sold out and was attended by almost 50,000 fans. He was named Fighter of the Decade because of his achievements by Boxing Writers Association of America against his rival Floyd Mayweather Jr. Fans were eager to see the fight between the two fighters but negotiations failed because of drug accusations and drug testing policies that the Mayweather’s wanted to push. Pacquiao move on and instead fought Antonio Margarito. The fight again was scheduled in the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The fight proved to be a nightmare for Margarito as he was outlasted by Manny Pacquiao by again winning a convincing unanimous decision against the Mexican slugger. The fight against Margarito gave Manny his eight world title in eight different divisions, a record that will surely stand for many years. Months after winning the title, he decided to vacate the super welterweight belt and stays in the welterweight division where he is scheduled to fight Sugar Shane Mosley. Mosley is also a dangerous opponent for him because he is also a former champion and also considered one of the best boxers of all time and a future Hall of Fame inductee.
