Manohar Parrikar in 2003 during his earlier term as Chief Minister - TopicsExpress

Manohar Parrikar in 2003 during his earlier term as Chief Minister offered a reward of Rs 1000 for every pothole spotted on any road in Goa. If he now dares extend that offer even only within the municipal limits of the small city of Mapusa the state coffers would instantly run dry. The condition of the roads across Goa is in a very precarious state and at many places treacherous. The thrust of the government should have been on the proper maintenance of the current crumbling infrastructure. We are being made to dream of 24 hour water supply but the Courts in Mapusa this month were without a drop of water for over a week. The surface of the roads in most places, is wearing off, the mask of the Government and a reflection of the state of bad governance. Instead of getting his priorities right, Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is on a rampage issuing tenders for new projects as that is the fastest way he can rake in the moolah. With all the contractors being from outside Goa the deals are well sealed with the details of the kickbacks tight lipped. The people of Goa after having had to bear the brunt of the earlier government have to now put up with this larger scale of corruption and rampant nepotism of the current regime. The Parivartan has been from the frying pan right deep into the fire. God Save Our Goa.
