[Many agree that the only laws in our public schools should be American laws. The Christian Lords Prayer has been removed from Public Schools and now we are going to accommodate the Muslims.] Parkdale High School in Riverdale, Maryland just admitted that it is bowing down to sharia law by making this announcement. The high school announced that it is now allowing its students to to leave class for EIGHT minutes every day to participate in ISLAMIC prayer rituals. While the ten students who are currently participating in the school’s Muslim Student Association’s program are pleased by this addendum to the rules, many teachers, parents, and students in the school district are not. Many teachers are angry about the DISRUPTION it causes to class and their other students. “I’ve been really happy with how we’ve been able to deal with it without it becoming an issue,” the school’s Principal Cheryl Logan said in DISAGREEMENT with the teachers. Their reasoning for this is that the State Department of Education allows public schools to “have the DISCRETION to dismiss students to off-premises religious instruction, provided that schools do not encourage or discourage participation in such instruction or penalize students for attending or not attending.”
