Many epic failures begin with the words, I saw this thing on Pinterest... This is not one of those failures; this is a spectacular win. This is also the latergram of firsts, because several weeks ago, we took to the streets in a project Ive wanted to do for over a year. We bough concrete sealant (my annual WalMart trip - Im off the hook until next fall) and poster board, then carved witticisms into the poster board. This is harder than it looks. Theres only so much space to carve witticisms in a third-grade science fair project board, so you have to be judicious in your phrasing. Even if you think youve been concise enough, once you start using a steak knife to cut out the letters, youd wish youd gone with a simple Peace yall. But we hacked and we carved, then we co-opted a slab of sidewalk. We laid our poster board down and sprayed a first coat of heavy chemicals, let it chill out for a half hour, then hit it with a second coat. After it finally dried, we dumped a bucket of water on the sidewalk to reveal our outrageous wit and cleverness.
