Many have asked for updates.. and I figure its time for one.. We will be heading to Vancouver this weekend. Zachary, unfortunately, has continued to decline and needs the intervention of dialysis while he waits for his donor kidney. What was supposed to be a consult appt to discuss surgery and dialysis options, has turned into surgery after his latest blood test. We will have our normal clinic appt Monday, meet and consult with the surgeons on Tues, and he will have his surgery Weds morning to have the catheters needed for PD inserted. He will stay in the hosp ( with Mama bunking in- new jammies and slippers for all :) ) until Friday, possibly as long as Sunday, depending on how he heals. We will come home to continue to heal and enjoy a quiet family Christmas.. We then head back in Jan for 2-3 weeks for dialysis training, and will leave armed with the machine, supplies and knowledge to do his dialysis at home. This will all be so much easier because of all of you! We couldnt be more blessed to have each of you behind us!! You are all a tremendous source of strength and support and we are just so thankful
