Many here ask why the House cannot use the power of the purse and simply defund ObamaCare? The answer is in the tricky way Democrats rammed the legislation through. Done properly there is a bill on the details of any proposed law and another for the funding. Democrats skipped that and put both the appropriations and the authorization for ObamaCare into a single Senate bill that was then accepted by House Democrats. Thus, to defund ObamaCare the whole bill must be repealed. The House can, alternatively, refuse funding in the coming Continuing Resolution (expected around October). That would risk a government shutdown when Obama vetoes it. What say you?
