Many of my "non-horse" friends fail to grasp why we dedicate so - TopicsExpress

Many of my "non-horse" friends fail to grasp why we dedicate so much time, energy and effort to the training and development of our horses and our in choosing "to do horse stuff" over something else that they see as "more important" or more valuable. They have not experienced those moments of partnership and leadership....my horse-friends know of what I speak. You know those training sessions that become more like play time? The horse is listening and interested. Your energy is "just right" and your "inner noise" is nothing but a whisper. Laughter just springs from your heart. You both are on the same page and your soft cue or mellow body language is all that is needed to communicate your wishes. Yeah, that is how we ended today. It makes all the hard work, the sweat, the dirt, the frustration and even the tears worth it. It is unique. Even to those who strive to improve themselves physically (I am thinking of my amazing eastern and western martial arts friends), I can say that "this art" give us some unique opportunities. It is often my simple prayer that all of those near to my heart experience those moments, in some way, than has meaning for them and that they become enriched by the experience. It has ben one of those days.
