Many of us spend a lot of time sitting down. Driving, at the computer, watching TV, eating, meditating, reading, working - it seems the majority of modern life involves sitting. All of this sitting can affect our bodies and health over time. It can can affect our posture - giving us a rounded back, rounded shoulders, tight hip flexors, forward head posture - and many more unwanted ailments such as back pain, joint stiffness and muscle tightness. In addition, I believe too much sitting and a lack of movement can affect our mood - making us feel lethargic and even less confident and optimistic about life. To counteract all of the sitting and lack of movement, for the past few years Ive been doing a short full body mobility routine on a daily basis. I usually do it first thing in the morning. Sometimes I do it before a workout. Other times I do it as a break from the computer. This type of dynamic stretching is fantastic for the body. Its good for our joints, muscles, blood flow, posture, and much more. There is also some research to show that making big movements such as those I demonstrate in the video can improve how we feel about ourselves and make us feel more confident. I can certainly attest to that. I usually feel fantastic after doing a full body mobility session like this one. Check out the video to learn more!
