Many of you are waiting for the story of Sheldon especially Gourmet Texas Pasta , so here it is. A few weeks ago on a Friday night, after we finished preparing for the farmers markets and after feeding all the animals in anticipation of being gone most of the next day, a major storm blew open the gate to Sheldons pen. He was discovered missing when we returned from the farmers market the next day. We searched for him for hours, for days, for weeks. Nothing. No sign of Sheldon...until one of Madisons friends posted a picture of a tortoise on FB. Through that posting, we tracked Sheldon down and he was brought home that night. Sheldon had been found by our local trash truck driver about 3 miles from home trying to cross FM20. How he made it that far, or how he got so lucky to be picked up and so lovingly cared for by our new friends Ric and Marisol, we will never know. But he is home now. And yes, we are going to lo-jack his butt.
