Many of you ask about the rescuing process for Westside. I can - TopicsExpress

Many of you ask about the rescuing process for Westside. I can tell you about the shelters where they are rescued from. The San Joaquin valley only has kill shelters. They do not offer any adoption services within their shelters. Owners can do a pick up, but the fine is about $400. Why? Well the dogs need to be s/n, vaccinated, etc. so the fine pays for all of that, plus a fine included. So owners never go and collect. They just pick another stray up. This is also why so many mamas are pregnant. Finally, the school year is the busiest season for the shelters. The pets follow all the kids walking to school and then the schools call animal control or the police (some towns dont have ac and the police are the ac) to pick up the animals. The people working up there hate the kill part and have Csilla/Westside on speed dial. I hope that answers some questions as to why so many pregnant, so many pups, and why we travel up north to those particular shelters.
