Many of you have asked how my daughter, Lundon Christen, inspired the stories of LUNDONS BRIDGEs five books. If you get Book #1, in the back there is a small section about the history of the story and you can find it there. However, for those of you that have not got the book, in a nutshell, when Lundon was around 3 or 4 years old, she and I went to the beach in Los Angeles and as she did each and every time I took her there, she played in the sand with her bucket and shovel. I sat about 3 or 4 feet away watching her and all the people around us. Im a big people watcher. Anyway, an older gentleman walked by where Lundon was sitting and she, not looking up, stood up and taking the mans hand started to walk off with him. By the time I got to my feet to go after her, shed realized the gentleman wasnt me and she let go of his hand and came running back. He kept on walking away. She hurried up to me and then resumed playing with her sand bucket and small shovel. That episode was burned into my brain and I realized how easy it would be for someone to take a child and if you, the parent, isnt paying attention for just a few seconds, could lose you baby. It scared me very much and within a few days after that I had the first outline written of a story about child kidnapping. As the story was played with and developed, Family Love and Saving the Planet was added to the storyline. The photo below is of Lundon Christen from that very day. It is a little blurry and for that I have only myself to blame. Thank goodness Im not a cameraman. Lundon passed away 6 years ago at the age of 31. Yes, I have been working on this story for many, many years. The second photo is that of a very young Paris, who will play the role of Lundon OMalley in the Lundons Bridge series of stories.
