Many of you have been asking what it is we are trying to raise the money for, here it is, I want different size weights for her ankles and wrists for her to develop strength, she needs to build her muscle tone. I would like to purchase a foam wedge to help encourage getting her comfortable getting into the kneeling and crawling position, Right now we roll up blankets but they arent very stable and they obviously flatten and we have to continue to puff them up There is a large massage therapy ball I think she would benefit from when she has her tummy issues, it has nubby things all over it and it would also be great for sensory for her. A medium peanut is a must, she needs to develop core strength and build up some balance, shes very wobbly. I am working on getting her a different walker than the one she has right now, I love the one we have for her but it doesnt allow for her to really walk properly, even when I put Deja in it, Deja scoots both of her feet at the same time bc its too difficult to walk normally in it, Delainey has mastered the pushing herself forward and backing herself up but I feel it confuses her bc in her walker she moves her feet at the same time, and when we want her to walk assisted with us she wont separate her legs now, she just pushes and jumps. One last thing Id like to purchase is a bath chair. Something she can sit in the tub with and be able to play and reach for things just as any other child can do. Right now she just lays on her back mostly and has a tough time moving in the tub when she wants something, it would also be easier to wash her if she werent laying down bc now I have to hold her up and try to wash her at the same time, its not as easy as it sounds, shes a long girl and she moves about a lot as well. I am trying to find things as cheap as possible bc I know I dont have to pay the kind of money that some of the items go for and once we have aquired what we need any extra money will be donated to another Trisomy family. Ive thought about this long and hard and there is a family I would like to purchase an Upsee for. So we will see where this gets us, if we dont reach our goal this time, we will try again later.
