Many of you in the reporting community and UIS PAR community know Tribs Kate Thayer Wegrzyn. Tragically, she just last week lost her husband, Mike, the father of their young twins. He taught science at District 204 and coached lacrosse. Prayers are good at times like this. Here is more information sent to me by one of Kates close friends: In memory of Mike Wegrzyn, his family and friends have set up a fund to benefit his twin daughters, Elle and Aubren. Mike Wegrzyn lost his life much too early after suffering a stroke in June. His family and friends are raising money in his memory to benefit his twin daughters, Elle and Aubren. We hope that Mikes infectious enthusiasm and generous spirit will live on in his girls. His love of education will be honored when this fund helps Elle and Aubren in their future educational endeavors.
