Many of you may wonder what happens to the survivors after they have been rescued. According to Health and Human Services, there are fewer than 100 beds available in the United States for underage victims. Although this number has increased throughout the years, it is still not enough to support the more than 300,000 reported cases in our nation. Commonly when a child is rescued they are reunited with their families or placed in Foster Care. Although these are good options, we must understand that in most cases the survivors need to be in a safe environment where they can receive holistic treatment as they face the physical and emotional scares of trafficking. It is for this reason that The Covering House is working tirelessly on opening our long-term Residential Facility. No child should be turned away because we cannot provide a safe place for them. Every survivor deserves Safety, Dignity and Freedom. Together we must understand the sensitive needs of each survivor and seek to provide for children that desperately need our help. Please join us in spreading the mission of The Covering House and seeking to be a support, advocate and provider for these precious children.
