Many of you reading this may have just finished a coffee, some may be starting their day with a newborn on their lap, there are those who are hurrying off to work and still more that are looking forward to a day of retirement. perhaps a walk or a good book. As I write this (and it is early), I have just returned from the gym. My body is aching and although I feel good about trying to keep my efforts to get in better shape, there is a part of me that would love to curl up and rest. As I exercise, I push through painful times and those thoughts of “nobody will know if I quit now”. I also contemplate my daily blog as I work. It occurred to me today that my faith journey is like my work out. I wonder how Jesus felt on that long walk to the cross. It was so painful, yet he pushed on. He also knew that he could have quit… no one would have thought less of him. But he did not.
