Many of you will, of course, be familiar with the works Montague Rhodes James, the master ghost story writer. A few of you might even be aware of the BBC TV dramatisations directed by Lawrence Gordon Clark, broadcast between 1971 and 1978 on British television. Spectral Press has recently produced a book entitled The Christmas Ghost Stories of Lawrence Gordon Clark edited by Tony Earnshaw, featuring all the M R James tales adapted, commentary from the director himself, and introduction by Mark Gatiss. Its available in three editions: paperback, unsigned hardback, and Deluxe very limited edition, the latter featuring an unproduced script by Basil Copper of Count Magnus, various appendices and Charles Dickens The Signalman (not many of them left).
