Many people agree that welfare can be an important safety net for people in genuine need… but what happens when that safety net becomes a “safety hammock?” This shows the disturbing mentality of entitlement that is held by some welfare recipients. In the clip, a 30-year-old woman named Kiara revealed that she has been on public assistance for over a decade. Here’s the big problem: She hasn’t even tried to do anything for herself in all of those years and feels that the welfare is simply owed to her. “I get $780 in food stamps, $500 in tenant,” she explained, “and I get Medicaid and WIC.” That is the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. We pay for this!! Why should some work to pay people to do nothing?!! Something has got to change as this is out of control!
