Many people ask why I dont go to certain conferences or events. The truth is I get invited to speak at so many, and go as press to others (these I pick and choose for my blog and books - usually the big brand-themed conferences), that I just dont have time for most. Id hate to say it, but the best way to get me to come to a conference is to get me to speak (which I usually charge for, with very few exceptions). Beyond that I really have to balance time with my family, as traveling for conferences really takes a chunk out of my time with them.
