Many people complain that prices have gone up over the decades, and this has hurt or ruined their lives. It can be true, especially if one lives on fixed income and the like. But it is also true that many things have gone DOWN in price relatively speaking. E.g. back 50+ years ago to purchase a computer would have cost the individual $10 million dollars. ($50 million in todays dollars.) Today it can be had for $400. An advertising campaign in the thousands, whereas now in many ways it can be had on the Internet for free. Likewise, delivering mail costs hundreds in postage, and now is essentially free via email. Thus, speed and time are also positively effected, not just cost! When we evaluate cost, value, standard of living, etc, we need look at all sides of the issue, the totality of conditions, including modern conveniences, as well as vastly empowering new technologies. Today we can even get a free education online if we wish! Cost there has practically dropped to zero.
