Many people have asked what they can do in light of the crises that are happening with greater intensity across the globe right now - Christians are being brutally persecuted in Iraq, an Ebola epidemic in West Africa has killed over 1,000 people and left millions in fear, and unrest and violence in Ukraine has left thousands displaced. What can we do in the face of such horror? 1) We can PRAY - Psalm 34:17 says When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.” Let’s pray for our brothers and sisters enduring incredible hardship - that they would be delivered, protected, strengthened and that the peace of God, which passes all understanding would guard their hearts and minds. 2) We can GIVE - our denomination, Foursquare, is currently collecting emergency donations through Foursquare Disaster Relief to provide for thousands who fled Iraq and Syria to seek refuge in Turkey, to distribute hygiene supplies to Ebola-affected regions in West Africa and to construct homes for families recently displaced by Russias annexation of Crimea. Donations collected are bringing aid directly to local churches and displaced peoples in these regions.
