Many people have been so sweet to my family recently, and I thank each of my friends who have been there when we needed you most. Just the short version of the last 5 days or so: We dropped everything and drove to Bham to meet our adoptive son born on July 3rd. Without going into the legalities, we lost the child to a distant relative. No, we are not the best parents in the world, but we were the best for that boy. Oh, my heart aches for my wife and daughter. It was the worst news we could have had at that time. We had a wonderful 36-48 hours with a son. Now he is gone. The tears of my daughter tore a hole in my heart that will never heal. Thank you Nicole Rolin Teague, Elizabeth Wiggins Ketchem, John Clauser, Don Lay, and our family, among so many others, for your thoughts and prayers. We are broken and torn. And we are done.
