Many people havent understood the publics heartbroken reaction to Robin Williams suicide. I believe for many, it touches us because we have felt those dark depths. We can relate to the pain and desperation he was feeling in the moment he made that decision, and the lifetime of pain that preceeded it. It makes us more aware of our own fragility and mortality. Thats both frightening and humbling. Many of us could have taken similar steps. Many people have - but as they were not celebrities, it wasnt publicly highlighted. It shows no matter how good people think your life is when looking from the outside, no one ever truly knows anothers suffering. Invisible illnesses are all encompassing, and most are coupled with depression. We are all warriors fighting our own daily battles. Sad circumstances like this make us reflective. You dont need to know someone to be touched by their suffering. You just need to have a heart. XxXx
