Many people know that the YMCA has been given 17 acres of land in Mifflinburg on 8th Street and that the YMCA was exploring putting a YMCA in Mifflinburg. There is an article on WKOK News today saying that the YMCA is coming to Union County...to Lewisburg. ----------------------- SUNBURY- The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA is establishing a branch in Union County. The branch in Lewisburg will include financial support and collaboration with Weis Markets. Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA CEO, Bonnie Wassmer announced, “We’ve been committed to bringing a new YMCA facility to Union County for the better part of a decade. We’ve been fortunate to receive an incredible opportunity to make that happen with some wonderful community partners, at a great location.” Wassmer said that more information about the new YMCA would be announced. She said, “The Union County YMCA will provide a wonderful resource to all who call the Central Susquehanna Valley Home.” The YMCA will be located in the Weis Plaza, at the former Wal-Mart, on Route 15 in Lewisburg. The Greater Susquehanna Valley YMCA also has branches in Sunbury and Milton, and operates an Art Center in Sunbury. (Emily Engle)
