Many people like the Terrence Malick movie The Thin Red Line - which is kind of an existentialist arthouse war movie. But what I want to know is why has the oeiginal 5 hour cut of the movie never been released! Apparently Billy Bob Thornton, Martin Sheen, Gary Oldman, Bill Pullman, Lukas Haas, Jason Patric, Viggo Mortensen, and Mickey Rourke were all in the movie but had their parts cut out. Its also a rumour that Adrien Brody was supposed to be the main character of the movie but all of his scenes were cut. Then again apart from Mickey Rourke Ive never actually seen any production stills or footage with any of the actors who are supposedly missing so maybe they are just rumours. But still, I cant help but wonder what that 5 and a half hour version of the movie would be like...
