Many people mistakenly think that minimum wage laws are good. That is wrong for many reasons. The article above shows one of the negative effects; The threat of uneconomic minimum wages promotes businesses to automate, as McDonalds is now doing with automated hamburger production, which will disappear many McDonalds jobs. Thank you liberals! Once the automated machines are developed, businesses will keep them and the jobs are gone forever. But, one of the really nasty aspects of minimum wage laws is that it blocks business from hiring young people. Business hiring students gives students vital training that helps then hold down jobs as they get older. For many, it is their first entry point in developing productive careers. Others, who did not work when young, develop poor work ethic, and often turn to crime, or follow welfare careers. Just look at the 40% young black unemployment. Minimum wage laws, and other laws restricting employment, need to be eliminated.
