Many people we talk to, after bringing in their bike, are told they need a new chain and also a new set of rear gears. So, if your bike isnt shifting properly it could be your shifting needs a quick adjustment or it could be because your chain is worn down. If you change your chain more often, your gears dont wear down as quickly and will save you having to change those out as often. Here is a link that explains chain stretch or wear:
