Many people were inspired by UAV of MIT, Anna University hovering at Pasumpon I was invited by MIT team to witness and give feedback on the UAV deployment at Pasumpon for helping the Tamilnadu Police in monitoring, overseeing the procession of Devar Janthi celebration. Myself and Dr Thamaraiselvi, Dean MIT visited and witnessed the UAV flying along with Mr Sarangan, DIG Technical. Prof Dr Senthilkumar and his team were operating the UAV over the Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Devar samathi and the entire area around that for, and to all the incoming routes where vehicles and people movements were monitored from the police control room established at Pasumpon. Huge gathering and procession towards the Devar Jothi has been witnessed. I appreciate the TN police, which is the first police force in India to use UAV for security, crowd control and monitoring and help people to have a peaceful procession. My suggestion is the following: 1. UAV deployment, monitoring and control should become the SOP of police security manual. 2. Using the Modernisation of State Police Force fund, State govt has to setup a mobile UAV control room along with 4 rotor and one fixed wing UAV in each districts. 3. Train the police manpower to operate, monitor and control. 4. Help govt to bring out a regulation for the use of UAV for civil application. I greet the team MIT, Anna University for thier contribution through its UAV for peaceful procession of Devar jayanthi, Immanuel sekaran jayanthi, Thiruvanamalai Girivalam procession for the last two years. Also using its UAV for unearthing the quamtum of illegal mining PRP granites, helping the police to investigate TCS girl murder case, helping police to recover 7 live people in mukalivakkam multi story building collapse. TN govt has sent MIT team to uttrakhand to unearth 50 live persons who were trapped due to flash floods. We should be proud of Dr Senthil kumar and his team under the leadership of Dr Thamaraiselvi for innovtion in UAV technology and also the TN police under the leadership of Shri Ramanujam for using the UAV system designed and developed indigenously.
