Many people who see the heartbreaking photos and videos of the dog and cat meat trade in China believe that there are no or only a handful of activists fighting to stop it. In actual fact there are many, many groups and individuals who rescue the dogs and cats destined for the slaughterhouse. There are also well known groups, set up by people from the West like Animals Asia Foundation who work with the people in the countries they focus on, educating them and providing them with materials to go out and educate others.
