Many philosophers, W.K. Clifford, Brand Blanshard, Bertrand - TopicsExpress

Many philosophers, W.K. Clifford, Brand Blanshard, Bertrand Russell, Michael Scriven, and Anthony Flew, to name a few, have argued that belief in God is irrational or unreasonable or not rationally acceptable or intellectually irresponsible or somehow noetically sub par because , as they say, there is insufficient evidence for it. Bertrand Russell was once asked what he would say if, after dying, he were brought into the presence of God and asked why he had not been a believer. Russells reply: Id say Not enough evidence God! Not enough evidence! Let us call the thesis that belief in God is justified only if there is sufficient evidence, the evidentialist objection.
