Many press reports document that migrants are coming to the U.S. in response to lax immigration enforcement by the Obama administration. They have heard about his policy of prosecutorial discretion making deportation of illegal aliens a low priority unless they are convicted of serious crimes. Theyve also heard about his 2012 executive order deferring action for childhood arrivals. Is anyone surprised that deferring enforcement action against illegal childhood arrivals results in more such arrivals?
