Many skeptics believe faith is a blind, arbitrary leap in the dark - TopicsExpress

Many skeptics believe faith is a blind, arbitrary leap in the dark that has no relationship to reason, evidence, or knowledge. But that isnt the biblical definition of faith. Check out the definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1. “Trust” accurately communicates the biblical idea of faith. In addition, it helps me reunite true faith with reason, evidence, & knowledge. Therefore, I only put my trust in what I have good reason to believe is true. What skeptics dont realize is the fact that they too have faith, but is it blind or reasonable? After sharing the Gospel with unbelievers, Im asked why Christianity is the only true religion, how is the Bible Gods Word, etc. I start off with John 14:6 & tell them Christs resurrection is the ultimatum. I also show how fulfilled prophecies & historical accuracies make the Bible trustworthy in its claims too. But how do I know Christ rose from the dead? Theres circumstantial evidences that deem the biblical claim of Christs resurrection as trustworthy. So I show unbelievers how my faith is reasonable; therefore, I can trust what God said He did in His Word that seem crazy & about things that are unknown about the past & future. I challenge yall to examine what yall put your faith in. We dont want to put our faith in false accounts. We don’t want to put our faith in false ideas. The truth is out there & its knowable. Everyone has faith in something they think is true, but is what/who we are trusting in true? Now, there are plenty of folks out there who will continue believing things b/c they want to; even if the evidences disprove what they believe. But those who honestly want to seek the truth they can put their faith in, their investigation will eventually lead them to the truth, Jesus Christ. & that is only possible with the help of the Holy Spirit, b/c some truths are hidden. My testimony to my skeptical friends: I was raised in Christianity (& my dad is a pastor for those who didnt know). I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was in 3rd grade, but doubted my salvation during my middle school years. In 8th/9th grade, I fully trusted in Christ, & that all my past, present, & future sins were forgiven. During my freshman year in college, God dealt with me during my quietest years & I grew in the faith. During my junior year, I was challenged by skeptics, atheists, & Muslims. It was during that time I had to investigate & test the Bible, & I have come to where I am today based on my investigations. Did I ask my dad questions? Yes I did, & he gave me some answers. He then told me to investigate more b/c biblical Christianity is the most falsifiable religion on the face of the earth with all of its historical references & prophecies. Thats why it was easy to investigate & determine if Christianitys true or not. Today, my worldview is based on an honest search for the truth, not on a search for information that affirms my personal desires, pleasures, or feelings. The belief that there is a God who created everything versus everything coming from absolutely nothing, & that a God who created us with the capability of knowing Him & would give us a way to know Him is the most reasonable, logical & scientific view there is.
