Many sociologists within Islamic countries are of the opinion that a compulsory public education across the country joins workers and the necessary intellectuals under the same banner. Such a joining of forces by workers and intellectuals is evident within Islamic societies, which enables them to review their plans toward production. Such connections between workers and intellectuals are not specifically the property of Islamic states only but are witnessed in every advanced industrial country. Past theories and analyses around intellectuals belonging to a specific social class serving the workers are immature, far from the truth, and non-scientific. The numbers of intellectuals within advanced industrial nations are currently exceeding the number of physical workers in the same countries. The number of town workers engaged physically in labor is continually decreasing, while that in the educated sector is increasing both quantitatively and qualitatively. The Islamites are forced to confess the existent truth of this. In this field, their Islamic Encyclopedia reads: “In parallel to economic and cultural developments, the number of intellectuals will increase with such speed that it often overtakes other social groups.” But now the question is: After all, how could a social group increase quantitatively, exceeding other social groups whom it intends to serve? Supposing that we accept the theoretical stands of the Islamic leadership, then the following question arises: How could a majority population in Islam come to serve the minority classes? Which is larger, the population or a group within the population? Is this not a return to a class-based society?
