Many thanks to Tony Abbott and Joe Hockey for there changes to our Centrelink services. Due to lack of personnel in their offices due to budget cuts in the public sector, we have been made to wait now for my partners payments until the 18th of next month. We applied a few months in advance (before his birth) for these payments being told that it would speed up the process. Our son was born on the 11th of this month after my partner having to give up work 3 weeks earlier due to complications. we notified them the next working day that he was born and provided the evidence. We only today got told that she would not get her payments until the 18th of next month but will be back dated from his birth. That is nearly 6 weeks since his birth and 9 weeks since working. It will be a great day on the 18th when we finally get back paid, but what do they expect us to live off in the meantime???? Centrelink.......You have no FN idea!!!! Rent still has to be paid, bills paid and food put on the table. Lodged a formal complaint but as usual it will go nowhere! :(
